The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), an apex professional society, was founded in year 1953 for promoting the general advancement of Telecommunication, Electronics and IT and to facilitate exchange of information and ideas in the fields which have been revolutionized economies of the nations worldwide. The institution, which has recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and an institution of Eminence by the Govt. of India, has on its rolls over 50,000 members spread all over India and in a few countries abroad. IETE, through its members, provides leadership in a number of scientific and technical areas of direct importance to the national development and the economy. IETE is serving through its 51 centers located all over the country. It endeavors to respond to the needs of fast changing and emerging technologies and strengthens the cause and competence of the profession by enabling those involved keeping abreast of the technological frontiers.
